What Did The Greek City-States Have In Common. Although each city in ancient greece had its own unique features and buildings, they also had many things in common. Greeks believed in the same religion.
Thanks to the storytellers, they simply believed in them. They had a few things in common, and throughout history, they were at war with each other for domination and supremacy. Under these were the monarchy, the aristocracy, the tyranny, the oligarchy and the democracy.
And athens developed the first democracy in the western world.
And in times of foreign invasion (such as the persian wars), they would band together to fight a common enemy. The word politics comes from this greek word. How did greece's environment impact their technology?

A monarchy is a type of government most recognizable by the fact that power rests in the hands of one person. They worshipped the same gods, they spoke the same language, and they had the same cultural background. In the ancient world, the polis was a nucleus, the central urban area that could also have controlled the surrounding countryside.
